Computer Lab Workstations Designed for Efficient Learning

Computer labs are used continuously throughout the academic or training day. Students and users may spend several hours at their workstations, making ergonomics, workspace organisation and accessibility important considerations.

Rather than relying solely on standard-size computer tables, we can develop workstations according to your room dimensions, seating capacity, equipment requirements and preferred layout.

This approach is particularly useful for educational institutions where every laboratory may have different room dimensions and computer configurations.

Layout formats

Row, cluster or exam-mode — set at design stage

The same desk module is arranged differently depending on whether the room is used for instruction, self-paced practice or assessments.

Layout 01

Back-to-back rows

The highest-density layout, with two rows of seats sharing a central cable spine. Suited to school, college and BPO-scale labs.

Layout 02

Perimeter, wall-facing

Desks run along the walls facing outward, keeping the room centre free for an instructor zone or projector sightline.

Layout 03

Shared clusters

Pods of four to six seats facing each other, better suited to collaborative training and pair-programming style sessions.

Benefits

Why labs are fitted with modular computer desks

Standardised, interlocking components rather than fixed carpentry — which changes how a lab can be sized, expanded or re-laid over its life.

Maximum seats per room

Desk width and row spacing are set to your room dimensions, so seating count is maximised without breaching aisle or fire-exit clearances.

Cabling stays out of the way

A rear trough and CPU trolley route power and network cable off the floor, cutting trip hazards and keeping the room audit-ready.

Built for daily heavy use

Scratch- and stain-resistant tops and reinforced frames are specified for continuous student, trainee or agent use, not occasional office work.

Fast, repeatable installs

Because the desk is a standard repeating module, a 40- or 60-seat lab installs in the same predictable sequence as a 10-seat lab.

Row or cluster, your call

The same desk module works in back-to-back exam-style rows or in shared clusters for collaborative training — set at design stage, not fixed by the product.

Easy to reconfigure or expand

Modular joints mean a lab can be extended, split into two rooms, or re-laid for a new headcount without replacing the desks.

How we build it

From room dimensions to installed lab

Certified processes at our Bengaluru facility take a lab from floor plan to finished installation in a predictable sequence.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Excited to meet you in person! Come visit us at our office to discuss your new design. We’re looking forward to connecting face-to-face.

What is a computer lab workstation?

A computer lab workstation is a compact desk built to hold a monitor, keyboard, mouse and CPU in a fixed footprint, usually arranged in rows or clusters so a lab can seat many users per square metre. It typically includes a CPU trolley or shelf, a cable management channel and a scratch-resistant worktop.

How many students or seats fit in a computer lab of a given size?

Seating density depends on desk width and layout. A standard 600mm-wide single-seater in back-to-back rows typically needs about 1.2 to 1.4 square metres per seat including aisle space, so a 60 sq. m. lab commonly seats 40 to 48 users; exact numbers depend on aisle width, fire exit clearances and cluster versus row layout.

Can the CPU and cabling be hidden or managed on these desks?

Yes. Standard configurations include a CPU trolley or under-desk shelf to lift the CPU off the floor, plus a rear cable trough and grommet holes to route power and network cables out of sight and off the walking path.

Are these workstations suitable for both schools and corporate training rooms?

Yes. The same modular desk format is used for school and college computer labs, coaching centre and training institute batches, and corporate training or BPO seating, with desk height, width and finish adjusted to the user group and room layout.

Do you customise computer lab workstations for an existing room layout?

Yes. Desk width, depth, row spacing, CPU trolley position and finish are specified against your room dimensions, door and window positions, and electrical points, so the layout fits the space rather than the space being adjusted to a standard desk.

How long does it take to manufacture and install a computer lab in Bangalore?

Timelines depend on seat count and finish, but most computer lab orders are manufactured at our Bengaluru facility and installed within a few weeks of design sign-off, with on-site assembly and cable routing handled by our own installation team.
